Today’s tip for new moms is the first in a series to help you have some basic understanding of why your baby cries and how you can soothe baby and fix what is causing the crying. The number one issue we all think about when Baby cries is that she is hungry.
There are signs that Baby will do to let you know that she is getting hungry, so that you don’t have to wait until she is beside herself with hunger. What are the signs? Your newborn may be fussy, may smack her lips, or she may root. Rooting is a reflex that newborn babies have in which they turn their face toward your hand when their cheek is stroked. She may also put her hands into her mouth and try to suck on them. These are signs that she is hungry and it is time to feed her. This is classic newborn behavior, and you will soon begin to pick up on Baby’s signals to you as time goes by. This is one of the most important tips for moms, especially new ones, that will come in handy.
